Donation of Clinical Face masks & Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)

The Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Senator Mohammed Sani Musa today donated 7500 clinical masks and 73 boxes of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Niger State Government to bolster the state’s supply of public health equipment. The Secretary to State Government, SSG, Alh. Ahmed Matane who received the donation on behalf of the State Government said this is the first of its kind for the government to receive such a donation from the national legislature from the state, he further stated that the donation which was timely and well appreciated will complement efforts of the COVID-19 Taskforce and State Government. The SSG also commended the Senator for his motion in the National Assembly calling for an urgent response to the security situation faced by the state in the hands of bandits, kidnappers, and cattle rustlers.

Alh. Sagir Tafida who presented the items on behalf of the senator applauded the efforts of the state task force committee also extended goodwill message and prayers to the government and people of Niger East. The Senator has also made plans to distribute 9000 face masks to the 9 local governments of Niger East as a step to help reduce the threat of spreading the dreaded COVID 19 pandemic. It is worth noting that the relief effort of the Senator started immediately after the COVID-19 index case emerged in Niger State, in which the senator immediately started sensitization campaigns and distribution of palliatives to his constituents. “I will continue to pursue every available avenue to support my constituents and the state government to equip our COVID-19 front-line workers so they can help keep our state safe and healthy,” Sen. Sani Musa said.
